Conversations: Edition Twenty One

Image
Continuing our weekly conversations... The deal: Each Thursday, we announce a question of the week. We seek to ask questions that spark interesting conversations, whether it simply be about books, traditions, spiritual disciplines, more theological matters, or anything related to life in general. You can join our conversations two ways: 1. Leave a comment with your thoughts! 2. Or, if you prefer, post an answer to your own blog and leave us a link to your post so we can comment and add to the conversation. If you post on your own blog, you are welcome to use the picture above as long as you link back to us somewhere in your post. This week's question... What ideas and materials have you found to be the most effective while evangelizing?

Song of Joy

Image
Today a dear friend of mine, Marie, has allowed us to share this lovely poem she wrote last month. May the Lord use it to brighten your day and encourage you in Him! Song of Joy by Marie Lemelin Inwardly, my soul is free, And as your love flows outwardly-- Onward I march to victory, And upwards to glory! Victory! Sweet victory! Amazing love that ransomed me! Soon, dear Lord, Thy face I'll see, As I press on to glory! Joyously, upwards I fly, One day I'll meet You in the sky! And we shall live in Heaven on high, Lord, I'll praise You forever in the sweet by and by! Victory! Sweet victory! Amazing love that ransomed me! Soon, dear Lord, Thy face I'll see, As I press on to glory!

If you could meet up with one Biblical person (besides Jesus) for a day and ask any questions, who would it be? What would you seek to learn from them?

Friday Footprints

Between spring break for Jessina and Megan, and teaching in a Christian school in an Indian reservation for Joanna, we've been rather busy! We're hoping to get back into the swing of posting soon, though. In the meantime, here are a few links to brighten your day! The recent earthquakes and tsunami in Japan have been all over the news lately. This afternoon I watched some footage of entire villages and cities disappear. It was heartbreaking. Anna from Hope Road , writes about the recent disasters in Japan and God's goodness. Head on over to her blog and read her worthwhile post . If you enjoy seeing God's beautiful world through photographs, then check out a fairly new blog called Six Angles ! Six Angles is composed of six different photographers from around the States who show life uniquely through their lens. Their pictures give a reminder of how sometimes the "ordinary" things are extraordinary through God's eyes! Have a great weekend! Remember to smil

Book Review: Trevor's Song

Image
Last month I read Trevor's Song by T.A. Beam and it really encouraged me in my walk with Jesus. Mr. Beam's story stuck out to me as such a great testimony of God's abundant love and mercy. Since it has been so meaningful to me, I thought I would share with you the review I did for on it for What's a Girl to Read? . Here's an excerpt from my review : One day tragedy strikes and Trevor is pulled through some farming equipment. Unsure if Trevor will be forever lame - or even if he'll live - Mr. Beam rushes his son to the hospital. Follow the Beam family through this hard time as they lean on the Lord Jesus and trust Him no matter what. Your heart will be inspired, as you delve into a book packed with God's fingerprints and miracles... To continue reading, click here .

Quotations: Hide Away

Image
Come, wandering souls and find your hope. Hide away in the love of Jesus. He offers the rest that you yearn to know. Hide away in the love of Jesus. Come, guilty ones, weighed down with sin. Hide away in the love of Jesus. The freedom you long for is found in Him. Hide away in the love of Jesus. Come, hopeless hearts, do not despair. Hide away in the love of Jesus, for ten thousand joys await you there. Hide away in the love of Jesus. ~ Steve and Vikki Cook
